Students

Congratulations! You have navigated through our new website to the page that can tell you just where you need to go for finding information about the Governor's School for your grade.

If you are currently in the 7th grade or 8th grade, the Governor's School for Math and Science is the place for you.  With programs running from 10-14 days, the Schools for Math and Science challenge students to soar in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) curriculum in order to prepare them for a world we can not yet imagine. Navigate through the GSMS site for answers to your questions.

If you are currently a sophomore and have talent in the arts, the section entitled School for the Arts will describe the program, tell you what you might expect and tell you how to apply.

If you're a junior, but answer questions about which class you are in by saying, "Next year I'll be a senior," the Governor's Honors Academy may be looking for you. High-achieving, motivated and motivating seniors will attend a three-week session at Fairmont State University that could well be life-changing.

The application for each school is two-pronged.  The first page of the application is on the website and is sent electronically.  The bulk of the information, though, must be downloaded, completed and mailed to

    Sherry Keffer, director
    Governor's Schools of W. Va.
    Building 5, Room 205
    1900 Kanawha Boulevard East
    Charleston, WV 25305

Deadlines for each program are listed within the program information for that school.
